Leadership Experiences: Turning Up the Heat

Learn how we are using "heat experiences" like stretch assignments, simulations, and project-based work in communities around the world to accelerate development of leaders at all levels. We’ll share what’s worked and lessons learned as we brainstorm ideas about what new "heat experiences" will accelerate the development of you and your leaders.

Notes:

  • Heat experiences take people outside of their comfort zone. They are best when they elicit strong emotions such as fear and empathy while perserving safety and well-being. Heat experiences include those that are on the job such as roles in new functions, businesses, or locations. Shorter assignments partnering with a non-profit or customer allow learners to walk in the shoes of others. Formal learning options include simulations and experiential workshops.
